The word “dinosaur” comes from Greek for “terrible lizard,” which is perhaps the greatest piece of false advertising in natural history. Dinosaurs weren't lizards, and plenty of them weren't particularly terrible. But “Dino” remains a pretty unbeatable name for anything designed for a kid who thinks extinct giant reptiles are awesome.
