Bears can spend months in their dens during winter, slowing their heart rate, lowering their metabolism, and generally becoming extremely committed to the concept of not going outside. Kids, for the most part, have not received this memo. So here's the compromise: a cozy little den for their head, while the rest of them remains determined to play in the snow.
