We joined the Responsible Packaging Movement in 2021 as a commitment to removing poly bags from our supply chain which we have successfully accomplished. We continue to work with our supply chain partners to find new ways to reduce the impact our packaging and shipping materials have on the environment.
We use third-party fulfillment centers in Canada and the US to warehouse our products and fulfill our orders. Working with these fulfillment centers eliminates the need for us to have a warehouse because we can share space with other brands.
Heating and cooling offices and warehouses is one of the largest sources of carbon emissions for companies. By sharing space with other companies we remove these emissions from our supply chain.
70% of our products are made here in Canada. Domestic production is better for the environment because it eliminates the need to transport materials and finished goods around the globe.
We do import fabric from Asia and the United States for our Canadian production. The carbon emissions from our international shipments of materials and products are calculated and offset through investments in carbon reduction projects.
We donate at least 1% of our total annual revenue to organizations that protect wild places as well as organizations that help get kids & youth outdoors.
Here are a few of the organizations that we've donated to in recent years; Cottonwood Lake Preservation Society, CUBE Cimbing Centre &Universal Outreach Foundation.
If you'd like to recommend an organization for us to consider donating to please send us an email.
We recognize that selling brand new products is a part of the problem in becoming a more sustainably-minded culture.
We believe in the philosophy of "buy fewer, buy better" in our personal consumer purchases. By buying higher quality products that last longer we will, in the end, buy fewer new things.
We also enjoy buying second-hand when possible. The great thing about quality outdoor gear is that it is built to last so it's easy to find second-hand gear.
When you do shop for new products, we encourage you to consider buying from companies that are working to decrease their impact on the environment. A good place to start is with brands that are a part of The Responsible Packaging Movement & Climate Neutral.
