I got two masks and love them! I’ve already had several compliments while wearing them and the bonus that I’m supporting a BC company really makes me happy.
I bought two winter gaiters and two masks and love them all. The gaiters are perfect as they keep my neck warm when I'm outside, but then pull up to be my mask when indoors, so no more walking back to the car as I never forget my mask now. The tie ups on the regular masks are comfortable and they both have the nose piece to keep my glasses from fogging up, which is a big deal for those who wear glasses. They are stylish, comfortable and affordable.
I've got 2 of these. If you have to wear a mask on and off all day, this is the one to get. So much better than ear loop masks that you have to handle to take on and off and stuff in your pocket. These masks just hang around your neck until you need to wear them. My only real issue is the nose bar to shape around the nose. It is meant to be removable. I think that is a mistake as it is hard to keep in its little sleeve and is constantly poking out and scraping my face. Needs frequent re-adjustment to keep it in the pocket. Much better if they would just sew it in place. Who cares if it goes through the wash with the bar in.
Also it would be great if they could make a version with a removeable filter (like the outdoor research version) as I am dubious as to how much protection this mask actually provides. Regardless I wear this mask every day and will keep doing so until this bleeping pandemic is over with.
Thanks for your feedback, Scott. Glad to hear you're enjoying the mask. Your comments on the nose piece are valid and understandable. We didn't sew them in so that they could be replaced if broken. As for the filters, our new versions (available the week of Jan. 25th) will have a filter pocket where you can slide a filter in between the layers of fabric.
Thanks again for your feedback, we really appreciate it.
I gave these to my 12yr son for Christmas as he needed a mask that stays put for Tae Kwon Do. Since then, he has moved to an online (Zoom) platform of TWD training and his younger sister has claimed his masks - which she loves!
Hi, i find this face mask with the ties difficult to put on and adjust. I may switch the ties to ear elastic. Was hoping it would be good for skiing and using with a helmet but is not going to work conveniently to get off without taking off the helmet. When tieng it ofer the helmet it leaves big gaps.
Thanks for leaving your review. Yes, face masks have been challenging for skiing! We've personally been using the same mask design that you have. We form the nose piece to keep it snug and in place when needed and then push it down around our necks when skiing down. We don't recommend wearing these over a helmet as it will not fit securely enough.
This mask is so comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I need to wear one at work and this is by far my favourite mask. High quality, great design!
I got my first Ambler mask on a trip to the Kootenays this summer, when local travel was still being encouraged. I love now that it’s colder I can wear it with a toque without having to keep taking my hat off. Great design and the material is the most breathable of all the dozen or so masks I own.
This mask has turned out to work over snow ski and board helmets and other ski/snowboard gear perfectly! Low fuss and quick to pull on prior to getting to the lift line up and parks! The quick dry fabric also makes them great for cold weather use. Low ice build up. Thanks for this great design Ambler!
Easy to wear for long periods of time because of adjustable strap around head instead of around the ears
